Position Overview
A leading provider in the commercial roofing industry is seeking a seasoned Business Development Representative / Outside Sales Representative to join its team. This role is ideal for a driven sales professional with a strong background in B2B commercial roofing sales. Offering strong base salary, commission and bonus.
You’ll be responsible for driving revenue growth by building and nurturing relationships with builders, general contractors, and developers throughout the Southeast. Your leadership, strategic thinking, and technical expertise will help expand market presence and ensure high-quality service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Relationship Building
- Identify and prospect new homebuilders, contractors, and commercial developers.
- Strengthen existing client relationships by aligning solutions with their needs.
Revenue Growth & Market Expansion
- Develop and execute territory-specific sales plans to meet quarterly and annual goals.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to uncover new opportunities.
Client Engagement & Support
- Act as the primary liaison for key accounts, coordinating site visits and project reviews.
- Interpret architectural drawings and specifications to ensure accurate proposals.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with Marketing to develop targeted campaigns and presentations.
- Coordinate with Operations and Supply Chain to ensure timely delivery of materials.
Reporting & Forecasting
- Maintain detailed CRM records and pipeline forecasts.
- Present performance updates and strategic insights to leadership.
Qualifications
Sales & Leadership
- Minimum 3 years of B2B sales or business development experience in construction-related industries.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Communication & Organization
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
Technical Proficiency
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and project specs.
Compliance & Safety
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
- Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions.
Travel
- Willingness to travel 25–50%, including overnight stays.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, Business, or related field OR at least three years of relevant industry experience.
