Construction Estimator – Fireproofing, Insulation & Firestopping (Remote)

Location: Remote – Philippines or Latin America preferred
Schedule: Full-time | 40 hours/week | U.S. Business Hours (EST or CST)
Compensation: $1,700–$2,300/month USD (based on experience & region)

The Role

We’re hiring a fireproofing, insulation, and firestopping takeoff specialist to join a fast-moving, detail-driven commercial construction team. You’ll review plans, isolate relevant sheets, and produce clean, accurate takeoffs using Edge Estimating Software—with a focus on scopes that require sharp attention to detail and code compliance.

You’ll need strong instincts, trade experience, and the ability to think like a field guy, not just a keyboard estimator. We’re not looking for a spreadsheet jockey—we’re building a long-term team player who gets it.

What You’ll Do

  • Review and interpret construction drawings and specs for interior insulation, fireproofing, and firestopping scopes (no EFIS or exterior work)

  • Perform digital takeoffs in The Edge Estimating (PlanSwift or Bluebeam knowledge also helpful)

  • For fireproofing: determine required UL hourly ratings and spray thicknesses per steel size and UL design

  • For firestopping: isolate penetrations, joint systems, and rated walls/floors—ensure compliant materials and assemblies

  • Mark up plans with clear legends and field-ready annotations

  • Assist with pricing, bid prep, and proposal documentation

  • Flag scope gaps or unclear details for RFIs as needed

  • Keep project files organized and ready for handoff

Must-Have Experience

  • 2–3+ years in construction estimating, preferably in fireproofing, firestopping, insulation, or similar trades

  • Strong command of Edge Estimating Software

  • Confident interpreting structural and architectural plans

  • Familiarity with UL designs, firestopping systems (like Isolotek/3M), and standard application details

  • Highly organized, clear communicator, and self-driven

  • Able to work during EST or CST hours

Bonus If You Have

  • Prior experience specifically with batt, spray foam, and mineral wool insulation

  • Understanding of penetration/joint firestopping systems (FF, WJ, etc.)

  • Background working with U.S. commercial subcontractors

  • Spanish/English bilingual (LATAM) or strong written English (PH)

Compensation & Equipment

  • Monthly Salary: $1,700–$2,300 USD depending on experience

  • Secure company laptop may be provided
